Dimitar Berbatov, former Manchester United striker, has suggested that Liverpool consider appointing ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel if they are unable to secure Xabi Alonso as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement at Anfield.
With Klopp set to depart Liverpool at the end of the season, the club is actively seeking his successor. The names in contention include Tuchel, who will be leaving Bayern Munich, and Alonso, currently managing Bayer Leverkusen.
In a statement to Betfair, Berbatov shared his perspective, saying, “I think Liverpool should continue their pursuit of Alonso. If they can’t secure him, then there are other coaches available, like Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel would be the next contender for me to replace Klopp if they miss out on Alonso.”
